Redmi and Poco Phone users in India are facing mobile restart issue right now. Many users got affected because of this automatic shutdown with the pop-up error message saying “Find Device Closed Unexpectedly”, when you try to turn the phone again, you’ll get the message again and the phone goes off.
Solution to Find Device Closed Unexpectedly
Don’t get panic
You don’t have to take your phone to the service center and waste your time. Below are the 3 solutions that we came with. But you have to try these options very quickly as your phone gives you very few seconds before it shows you the error message. You can see the below video or read the solutions –
If the above video wasn’t so clear, follow the steps given below. You have to try these quick as your phone may shutdown quick.
1. Uninstall Airtel Thanks App
The new updated version of the Airtel Thanks App is clashing with the MIUI 12 and that could be causing this issue. Try uninstalling this app to fix the issue.
- Once you turn your phone ON, Open menu and long press Airtel App
- Choose uninstall from the list
- Now click on Uninstall from the pop-up
If your phone switches of quickly-
- On the first attempt – Quickly add the Airtel app to Homescreen
- On the Second attempt – try uninstalling the app.
Note: Many users found this to be working, we got the source from this YouTube video comment. At this time we can’t blame Airtel App and we are not sure if the problem is with Airtel or Miui, let’s wait till Airtel announces a new version of the app.
2. Clear System Launcher and Find Device Cache
If the above method didn’t work, Try clearing the System launcher and Find Device Cache, This will flush all the pre stored cache data and might help you solve the issue.
- Go to settings
- Choose Apps and click Manage Apps
- Choose System Launcher
- Click on Clear data
- Choose Clear Cache
Try the same for Find Device
3. Wipe Data
If above 2 options didn’t work, You have to factory reset your phone by clearing all the data. But, you have to do this through boot option.
- Press volume key and power key to turn ON phone in Boot mode
- Now press volume down to select second option “Wipe Data”
- Confirm “Wipe Data”
This will erase all the data and your phone will become new and you won’t see the “Find Device Closed unexpectedly” issue again.
These solutions will work on the below devices- Redmi 7 Redmi 8 Redmi 9 Redmi Note 7 Redmi Note 8 Redmi Note 9 Redmi Note 7 Pro Redmi Note 8 Pro Redmi Nore 9 Pro Redmi K20 Pro Poco F1 Poco F2 Poco C3 Poco X2 Poco X3

It was rebooting immediately within 2 seconds . I have organized the folder for apps and before doing any operations it was restarting soon. I think the better way is to wipe the data.
You have to try, try, and try deleting the app, many tried and succeeded. If you don’t have anything important on your phone, you can wipe the data.
After Uninstalling the Airtel Thanks app , my POCO F1 is working as normal… Thanks for the wonderful solution.
Without wipe data, I want my poco f1 back to normal…when I watching YouTube, I want to take rest sometime , so I pressed lock button as usual before…after 1 hour I see my mobile, it’s automatically restarts with MIUI screen, enters home screen to unlock, apps icons loaded, a message floats says “find device closed unexpectedly” then restarts again…now after unlocking the pattern, before loading apps icons, again goes black screen, restarts with MIUI screen, entering to home screen screen locked, tried unlock pattern , just wallpaper in home screen, before apps icons loaded, fastly goes black screen, again this same MIUI screen flashes, opening home screen …same problem repeatedly comes…tried safe mode by pressing volume button down, not holding up the home screen stays few seconds, again goes blank, restarting with MIUI…in between I tried with power button and pressed both volume keys or what I pressed I don’t know, a fast mode screen appears 2 cartoon emoji characters as one is looking as doctor checking another guy looks as patient…that fast mode screen displays still more minutes, then don’t know screen also went after blank screen…pressed power button to start, again same issue only…
